Electrochemical Determination of Interaction between Anticancer Drug Epirubicin and DNA by DNA Biosensors
Abstract
Studies that deal with the confirming the interaction of anticancer drugs with DNA have gained much more importance in recent years. In our study, the interaction of Epirubicin, an anticancer drug, with DNA was examined with electrochemical methods using pencil graphite electrode. Differential pulse voltammetry technique (DPV) was employed in our study. The parameters such as the concentrations of ct-DNA immobilized on electrodes Drug concentrations interacting with ct-DNA and its interaction periods of time were optimized using pencil graphite electrode and the limit of detection was determined and the result were explicated. To estimate the detection limit (DL) target sequences were found for ct-dsDNA and ct-ssDNA 0.556 μg/mL and 0.059 μg/mL , respectively. The study aims to contribute to the designing process of the drugs to be produced and to the illumination of the interaction mechanisms between the newly- synthesised drugs and DNA.
