Makama, S. A. obtained his first, second and third degree from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, Bayero University, Kano, Nigeria and University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur, Karnataka State, India respectively in Agricultural Economics.
Joined the service of National Agricultural Extension and Research Liaison Services, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 2009 as Assistant Extension Specialist/Assistant Lecturer and rose to the rank of Principal Extension Specialist/Reader. His research, training and outreach experience cut across the areas of Agricultural Economics and Extension program.
Dr. Makama teaches Production Economics, Microeconomics at undergraduate level and Quantitative Techniques, Agricultural Finance and Computer Application at Postgraduate level all in the Department of Agricultural Economics, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He Participated in a number of researches conducted in Nigeria. Dr. Makama worked as a sub consultant for GEMS4 2016 rice mapping exercise that was conducted in the country (Nigeria). Also, worked as consultant to International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI, Nigeria) for Kaduna State; a consultant to Sasakawa Africa Nigeria Project on the Validation and Evaluation of the Agro-Processing Enterprise Center Model Implementation across Gombe, Jigawa and Kano States . Currently he is a member of the Farm Management Association of Nigeria (FARMAN) and Agricultural Society of Nigeria (ASN). Also, a member, Kiyawa Local Govt. Education Development Committee, Kiyawa Progressive Association and Arewa Research Development Project.
To his credit, he has about 25 Journal papers published in a peer reviewed Local and International Journals, 10 conference proceedings.
