Bio

Ehab EID is currently working as the Director of Scientific Services at Prince Mohammad bin Salman Royal Reserve Development Authority in the Kingdome of Saudi Arabia. In addition, he is a steering committee member of the IUCN Species Survival Commission (SSC), and the regional vice-chair of West Asia for both SSC and Expert Assessment Group for Green Lists of Protected Areas (EAGL). Mr. Eid has experience in the nature conservation field in different dimensions including but not limited to biodiversity conservation, CITES, protected areas management, climate change and scientific research. He holds a master’s degree in conservation, access, and management of species in trade from the International University of Andalucía, Spain, and a B.Sc. degree in biological science from the University of Jordan. He has published several peer-reviewed articles, books, guidelines, and strategies. In addition, he led the development of several bylaws related to nature conservation and has developed the profile of Nagoya protocol in Jordan. He has contributed to mainstream biodiversity conservation into climate change where he led the development of the biodiversity and ecosystems chapters in the third and fourth national communication reports, national adaptation plan and the NDCs. He has also led the development of the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan in Jordan and neighboring countries.
