In this study, the toxic effects of ten food
preservatives (
sorbic acid, potassium sorbate, benzoic acid,
sodium benzoate, potassium acetate, sodium metabisulphite, potassium
metabisulphite, sodium tetraborate, sodium sulphite and boric acid) on the
longevity and percentage of survival were investigated. Wild type of Drosophila melanogaster was used in experiments. Third-instars larvae were
treated of the test compounds at concentrations of 5ppm, 10ppm, 15ppm, 20ppm.
As a result, all used treatment concentrations were found to reduces the
percentage of survival and longevity compared to the control group.

Bu çalışmada 10 farklı gıda koruyucusunun
(sorbik asit, potasyum sorbat, benzoik asit, sodyum benzoat, potasyum asetat,
Deneylerde Drosophila melanogaster’in
yabani tipi kullanılmıştır. Üçüncü dönem larvalara test kimyasalları 5, 10, 15,
20 ppm lik dozlarda uygulanmıştır. Yapılan incelemeler sonunda, kullanılan tüm
maddelerin yaşama yüzdesini ve ömür uzunluğunu kontrole nazaran azalttığı belirlenmiştir
