Potential Biopesticides for the Control of Plant wheat grain beetle, Anisoplia austriaca (Herbst, 1783) (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Rutelidae): Spinosad and Entomopathogenic Nematodes

Abstract

In the present study, the efficacy of local Entomopathogenic Nematodes (EPNs) (Steinernema feltiae UTP-5 and Steinernema carpocapsae E-76) (Rhabditida: Steinernematidae and Heterorhabditidae) alone and in combination with Spinosad was tested on the adults of Anisoplia austriaca (Herbst, 1783) (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Rutelidae) under laboratory conditions. The results showed that all treatments caused significant mortality in A. austriaca adults ranging between 75 and 95% 72 hours after treatment. The highest efficacy (95%) was achieved when S. feltiae was applied in combination with Spinosad. The results indicate that Spinosad and tested EPNs have the potential in sustainable control of A. austriaca.

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, yerel Entomopatojen Nematodların (EPN) (Steinernema feltiae UTP-5 ve Steinernema carpocapsae E-76) (Rhabditida: Steinernematidae ve Heterorhabditidae) tek başına ve Spinosad ile birlikte etkinliği Anisoplia austriaca (Herbst, 1783) (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Rutelidae) erginleri üzerinde laboratuvar koşullarında test edilmiştir. Sonuçlar, tüm uygulamaların, uygulamadan 72 saat sonra A. austriaca erginlerinde %75 ile 95 arasında değişen ölüm oranlarına neden olduğunu göstermiştir. En yüksek etkinliğe (%95) S. feltiae ile Spinosad kombinasyonundan elde edilmiştir. Sonuçlar, Spinosad ve test edilen EPN'lerin A. austriaca'nın sürdürülebilir mücadelesinde büyük bir potansiyele sahip olduğunu göstermektedir.
