KRONİK STRESİN ADOLESAN SIÇANLARDA NÖTROFİL LENFOSİT ORANI VE ERİTROSİT DAĞILIM GENİŞLİĞİNE OLAN ETKİSİNİN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Abstract

Giriş: Kronik stres maruziyeti homestaz durumunu bozmakta ve immun değişikliklere yol açmaktadır. Eritrosit dağılım genişliği (RDW) ve nötrofil lenfosit oranı (NLR), sistemik inflamasyonu değerlendirmede kullanılabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada kronik stres modelinin, adolesan dönem sıçanlarda hematolojik parametreleri nasıl etkilediği incelenmiştir.
Yöntemler: 16 adet adolesan Wistar albino erkek sıçan, kontrol grubu ve stres grubu olarak iki gruba ayrılmıştır. Stres grubuna modifiye edilmiş kronik aralıklı soğuk stres modeli 28 gün boyunca uygulanmıştır. Hematolojik parametreler ölçülmüştür. Anlamlılık düzeyi t-testi ile ölçülmüştür.
Bulgular: Kronik stres grubunda eritrosit dağılım genişliği değeri, kontrol grubuna kıyasla anlamlı olarak artmış bulunmuştur (p<0,05). Nötrofil lenfosit oranı düzeyleri açısından kronik stres grubu ve kontrol grubu arasında anlamlı fark bulunmamıştır (p>0.05). Hemoglobin düzeyleri, lökosit sayısı ve lökosit alt grupları dağılımı açısından iki grup arasında anlamlı fark gözlenmemiştir (p>0,05).
Sonuç: Eritrosit dağılım genişliği artışı, stresin etkilerinin değerlendirilmesinde kullanılabilir. Nötrofil lenfosit oranının stresle ilişkisinin değerlendirilmesi için daha fazla çalışmaya ihtiyaç vardır. Ek olarak, uygulanan stres protokolünün çeşidi ve maruziyet süresi sonuçları etkileyebilmektedir.

EVALUATION OF THE EFFECT OF CHRONIC STRESS ON NEUTROPHIL LYMPHOCYTE RATIO AND RED CELL DISTRIBUTION WIDTH IN ADOLESCENT RATS

Abstract

Introduction: Chronic stres exposure impairs homestasis and causes immune changes. Red cell distribution width (RDW) and neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR) can be used to evaluate systemic inflammation. In this study, we investigated the effects of chronic stress on hematological parameters in adolescent rats.
Methods: 16 adolescent Wistar albino male rats were divided into 2 groups as control group and chronic stres group. Modified chronic intermittent cold stress model was applied to the chronic stres group for 28 days. Hematological parameters were measured. The significance level between groups was assessed by Student’s 𝑡-test.
Results: The red cell distribution width value was found to be significantly increased in the chronic stres group compared to the control group. (p<0.05) There was no difference between the chronic stres group and the control group in terms of neutrophil lymphocyte ratio levels (p>0.05). There was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of hemoglobin levels, leukocyte count and distribution of leukocyte subgroups (p>0.05).
Conclusion: The increase in red cell distribution width can be used to evaluate the effects of stress. More studies are needed to evaluate the relationship between neutrophil lymphocyte ratio and the effect of stress. In addition, the type of stres protocol and the exposure time may affect the results.
