INVESTIGATION OF A DIFFERENT METHOD IN FREE HEATING DEGREE HOURS CALCULATIONS FOR AYDIN PROVINCE

Year 2023, Volume: 19 Issue: 1, 17 - 28, 30.06.2023

Abstract

The total energy used in the buildings is mainly spent on heating the premises during winter season. To reduce the energy need for heating without disturbing the comfort of residents, insulation on the outer walls, columns, beams, and double-glazing application on the windows is recommended for significant reduction in energy consumption. Free heating systems can also be used to reduce the energy requirement for heating. In this system, when the outdoor air temperature is above the indoor reference temperature (20 ° C), the heating systems (full air conditioning systems) meet the energy needs of the space by sending the fresh air taken from the outside environment directly into the space by bypassing the heating batteries. To carry out the design phase of this system, the frequency of reliable outdoor temperature distributions of 24 hours, separately for all months in the heating season, constitutes an important parameter. In this study, analyzes were made with 5 different programs written on visual basic. According to the results of the analysis; The system will meet the heating loads for the province of Aydın at any time of any month during the heating period, without commissioning the seasonal free heating working times and heating systems for each month in the season between any two time zones. Free Heating Degree Hour Value (SIDSD) was introduced to the literature for the first time. The maximum seasonal SIDSD in Aydın province is 746.4 between 13:00-14:00, the maximum SIDSD in the heating season is 276.4 between 14:00-15:00 in April, the maximum SIDSD in the months of the heating period is 2505.4 in April. 24 hours total SIDSD was estimated for Aydın for the first time.
